Eva Hesse

Posted on April 6, 2012 by aks

I mainly know of Eva Hesse from her sinewy, translucent sculptures made from fiberglass so was happily surprised when I came across some of her drawings and paintings.  I particularly like the progression of her work in Repetition Nineteen (highlighted in the video below) — a series of works that are nicely captured on the MoMA site showing her move from drawings to engineering sketches to paintings that finally lead to the sculptures.  There is so much more depth in her work than I ever knew! I am so excited to find this new inspiration.
