week 50: learning to see (song)

Posted on December 17, 2012 by aks

I made my song a coat
to cover up what is deep inside
a love for what
poets make us see

I gave away my coat
hoping to share what is underneath
but I’m losing track
of what is you and what is me

Don’t take away my coat
I’m not ready to walk naked
I’m just learning to see
I am finally beginning to see

Inspiration from Yeats and Rilke (and listening to alot of Bright Eyes) led to this song that I wrote over a year ago.  I’m just getting enough courage to share it!

Doing lots of year end catching up after moving, getting sick, recovering…almost all finished before the start of a new year.
